In the creative heart of Munich, right in the Glockenbach District, lies our idea forge for eyewear innovations: Welcome to the KLENZE & BAUM manufactory, located near the corner of Klenze street and Baum street. Founded by two longtime friends - a product designer and a graphic designer - with a shared mission: to be the most innovative eyewear brand in the field of 3D printing.

Since our launch in 2018, KLENZE & BAUM has specialized in 3D printed eyewear frames, regularly surprising with groundbreaking ideas: frames whose temples detach under excessive strain thanks to patented hinge technology and can be quickly reconstructed, the first translucent 3D printed frames made from liquid resin, hollow-printed ultra-light frames, and sustainable models made from plant oil. But that's not all: a removable stainless steel cap at the end of the temple allows for easy shortening, and a patented metal insert inside the temple ensures a perfect fit on the head - just like acetate frames.

Aurélien spent much of his youth not only repairing bicycles, skateboards, and snowboards but also building them himself. Equipped with these craftsmanship skills, his childhood friend Stefan suggested he pursue a product design degree at the university they both attended. At the Stuttgart Academy of Art, they both expressed their creativity - Stefan with a state examination in art and a diploma in communication design, while Aurélien gained early experience with 3D printing, which was still in its infancy, during his studies.

After graduation, their paths initially diverged: Stefan worked as an Art Director at Jung von Matt and later founded his own independent agency, while Aurélien followed his passion for mobility and advanced kite surfing development at North Kiteboarding. As a glasses wearer, it was only a matter of time before he turned his urge to improve technology towards optics. Stefan caught this entrepreneurial spirit, and after years of groundwork, they founded the eyewear manufactory KLENZE & BAUM in 2017.
