THE NEW 3D PRINTED ACETATE LOOK
KLENZE & BAUM is a pioneer in the field of 3D-printed eyewear. Now, the brand is once again setting standards with a world premiere: a semi-transparent, acetate-like material that opens up entirely new horizons in the aesthetics of 3D printing. Notably, the metal insert shines through the translucent temple, giving the frame an elegant, high-quality look and highlighting the premium craftsmanship.
TRANSLUCENT LIQUID RESIN
At the 2023 SILMO Show in Paris, KLENZE & BAUM presents 3D-printed eyewear frames that stand out for their exceptional light transmission. These frames combine the feel and look of acetate with the advantages of 3D printing. In the DLP process (Digital Light Processing), liquid resin is cured using UV light, solidifying photopolymers layer by layer. The colored material does not oxidize or shrink and allows for easy touch-up of minor wear and tear. With a fine, wood-like texture on the surface, we highlight the distinctive features of 3D printing while creating an elegant contrast to acetate. This way, the roots of our brand remain evident in every pair of glasses. With ACELIKE, KLENZE & BAUM expands its material portfolio, offering not only this innovative material but also frames made from sustainable plant oil and conventional nylon.
